Guardians of the Fleet When the Sailing Stops
Our winter yard began with a simple frustration shared by many owners along the Atlantic coast: at the end of the season there was nowhere truly dependable to leave a yacht. Boats sat under thin tarpaulins in open yards, exposed to salt spray, freezing nights, and the slow damage of damp air. We set out to change that by building a facility in the heart of La Rochelle where winterization and indoor dock storage are treated as a single, carefully managed discipline rather than two separate afterthoughts. From the first haul-out of autumn to the final launch of spring, we wanted owners to feel that their vessel was genuinely looked after.
Everything we do is shaped by the character of a coastal winter. The Atlantic climate is not always brutally cold, but it is relentlessly wet, and that moisture is what quietly ruins engines, upholstery, and electrical systems over the idle months. Our heated indoor halls, controlled ventilation, and structured monitoring routines exist specifically to break that cycle of condensation. The team combines marine engineers, riggers, and experienced harbour hands, so a boat is never passed between strangers; the same people who winterize your systems in November are the ones who watch over the vessel in January and prepare it for the water in March.
Above all, we believe trust is earned through transparency. Owners receive clear records of the work carried out, honest advice about what a particular yacht needs, and a facility they are welcome to visit. We would rather explain exactly why we drained a system, protected a fitting, or adjusted the storage climate than hide behind vague reassurances. That commitment to plain, documented care is what keeps clients returning season after season and recommending our winter berths to fellow sailors up and down the coast.
